Dorignac and Warhol, trainers, die

Joseph P. Dorignac III, a longtime Louisiana-based horseman, died Monday at age 60 after a brief illness. Dorignac won leading trainer honors at Fair Grounds in 1972, 1975, and 1984, and had been leading trainer at Arlington Park and Atlantic City Race Course.

* Former trainer Rhoda Warhol died Sunday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, at age 71, according to a published report. Warhol was an accomplished rodeo trick rider and trained horses in her home state of Minnesota, as well as in Iowa and Nebraska.
