Doneraile to Hill 'n' Dale

Lexington farms Hill 'n' Dale and Vinery have added new stallions to their rosters, their owners said Tuesday.

John Sikura, owner of Hill 'n' Dale, confirmed that the farm has privately purchased freshman sire Doneraile Court from Doug Arnold's Buck Pond Farm in Versailles, Ky., and will stand the horse for $15,000 in 2004.

Doneraile Court, a son of Seattle Slew and the sire of Grade 2 winner Ruler's Court, is North America's third-leading freshman sire.

Doneraile Court is standing the Southern Hemisphere season in Chile. Sikura said the stallion is due back by the end of December. Because of contractual obligations, Doneraile Court will shuttle to Chile for the next two Southern Hemisphere seasons.

Tom Simon's Vinery, meanwhile, announced that Grade 1 winner Trust N Luck will stand there for $8,500. The 3-year-old Montbrook colt won this year's Fountain of Youth Stakes. Trust N Luck retires with a career record of 12-5-3-1 and $727,484 in earnings.

Trust N Luck, due to arrive at Vinery on Thursday, is out of the Dahar mare Bold Burst, who also has produced stakes winner Grand Veranda.
