Dominguez saddling three for Fern Sawyer

It appears the $50,000 Fern Sawyer at Ruidoso Downs on Sunday will go through the barn of Henry Dominguez. The high-percentage trainer has three of the eight fillies and mares in the 7 1/2-furlong race, including probable favorite Sailor's Sister.

Sailor's Sister delivered as the favorite in the $50,000 Fischer Memorial at SunRay Park in her last start June 21. The seven-furlong race was run around two turns, and she was up for a half-length win over Goodbye Norma Jean, who also goes in the Fern Sawyer for Dominguez.

Sailor's Sister might get a nice stalking trip Sunday behind Goodbye Norma Jean and Petition the Lady, a winner of back-to-back sprint allowances. Both horses will break inside of Sailor's Sister, who gets gate 5.

A.J. Martinez has the mount on Sailor's Sister for Tommy Town Thoroughbreds. The filly is a half-sister to multiple Grade 3 winner Sailors Sunset.

Goodbye Norma Jean gets post 3, and the return to Ruidoso should serve her well on Sunday as she is 2 for 2 at the track. Martin Bourdieu has the mount on the mare for owner Chris Coleman.

Dominguez's other representative in the Fern Sawyer is multiple stakes winner Suva, who invades from Hastings.
