Discreet Cat to miss Dwyer

Godolphin Stable reported Thursday on its website that the unbeaten Discreet Cat will miss the Grade 2 Dwyer Stakes for 3-year-olds at Belmont Park on July 4.

The report said Discreet Cat has been coughing and missed some work, and that future race plans are undecided.

Discreet Cat won his maiden at Saratoga in his only start at 2 and was bought by Godolphin after that race. His breakthrough victory came in his third start, the Group 2, $2 million UAE Derby in March at Nad Al Sheba, where he posted a six-length victory.

Discreet Cat has not run since that race.
