Dinner at Arlene's relishes slop

AUBURN, Wash. - Dinner at Arlene's ($45.60), clearly relishing the sloppy track, went to the front with an initial quarter-mile in 22 seconds and splashed to a 2 3/4 length victory over favored Kissntheboysgoodby in Sunday's $45,000 Hastings Park Handicap at Emerald Downs.

Dinner at Arlene's, a 5-year-old daughter of Forestry who races for Jerre Paxton's Northwest Farms, defeated eight other older fillies and mares with six furlongs in 1:09. Trained by Doris Harwood, Dinner at Arlene's provided rider Gallyn Mitchell with his record-extending 50th stakes win at Emerald Downs. She earned $24,750 for her owner, increasing her bankroll to $85,547 from 5 wins in 12 starts.
