Dickinson has Epsom nominee

Michael Dickinson could have a runner in this year's Epsom Derby, as he has nominated Master William to the British classic.

Master William won his maiden race in his second start, the 1 1/16-mile Cup and Saucer Stakes on turf at Woodbine on Oct. 11. He was only fourth in his 2004 debut in the Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes at Gulfstream on Feb. 21.

Best known in England as the trainer of the first five finishers in the 1983 Cheltenham Gold Cup, Dickinson has informed Epsom officials that a decision on Master William's participation in the June 5 Epsom Derby will be made in four weeks.

Master William is owned by Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey, who have also nominated the Dermot Weld-trained Soaringwitheagles to the Derby.

A total of 140 3-year-olds remain in the Epsom Derby at this time, among them 25 Aidan O'Brien trainees.
