Dicey D J cruises in Hookedonthefeelin

Dicey D J had little trouble justifying her 4-5 odds in the $50,000 Hookedonthefeelin at Laurel Park, cruising to a three-length score over Kosmo's Buddy and seven other Maryland-bred 3-year-old fillies.

Under Anna Napravnik, Dicey D J briefly stalked the pace of Seeking Options in the five-furlong turf race, and by the time she hit the stretch had taken control. Kosmo's Buddy closed from fifth, and My Little Josie got up for third, another 2 1/4 lengths back. Dicey D J, a Milwaukee Brew filly owned by Bad Boys Stable and trained by Linda Rice, ran the five furlongs over a good course in 58.45 seconds and paid $3.80.

Dicey D J looked to have a class edge over her rivals. She had won a Belmont maiden race last July in her debut and had been competitive in allowance company on the Gulfstream turf this winter. She was coming off a second-place finish, beaten a half-length, after a slow start in a Gulfstream optional-claiming sprint, a race that pointed her out to bettors.
