Dicey D J appears fastest in Hookedonthefeelin

Dicey D J, who nearly overcame a poor start to win a rapidly run allowance at Gulfstream Park two weeks ago, may need only a clean break to win Saturday's $50,000 Hookedonthefeelin Stakes for 3-year-old Maryland-bred fillies at Pimlico.

Among a field of 10 scheduled to contest the five-furlong turf race, Dicey D J is one of only two fillies with a victory on grass. Trained by Linda Rice, Dicey D J won her career debut sprinting on turf last July at Belmont Park. Her 81 Beyer Speed Figure for her most recent race is by far the fastest turf figure in Saturday's field.

My Little Josie also won her career debut sprinting on turf last summer and followed up with a runner-up finish in the Tippett Stakes at Colonial Downs. She will race with blinkers for the first time after running poorly in her return off a five-month layoff on April 18.

Kosmo's Buddy almost always shows high early speed. She has raced on dirt in nine of her 10 lifetime starts. In her only attempt on grass, Kosmo's Buddy just missed against statebreds in the six-furlong Gin Talking last September at Laurel Park. Off since early March, Kosmo's Buddy prepped for this start with a three-furlong bullet on Tuesday.
