Destinyatthehelm sitting on a win

PORTLAND, Ore. - An evenly matched field of six 3-year-old fillies, each eligible to be claimed for $8,000, will vie at six furlongs in Saturday's feature at Portland Meadows.

Destinyatthehelm, a daughter of Helmsman who races for trainer Eric Jenson, may have a slight edge off her narrow miss in a similar spot last time out. Destinyatthehelm, who won her debut here in February, came from just off the pace to finish second, beaten a neck by Dj's Fancy Gold, when racing six furlongs against $6,250 foes on April 10. She has drawn the rail post on Saturday, when she will be ridden by Marijo Terleski.

Aunt T T is a threat after contesting the $10,000 Oregon Oaks in her most recent outing on April 1. Though she finished fifth of six in the 1 1/16-mile Oregon Oaks, Aunt T T graduated going 5 1/2 furlongs against $8,000 maidens in her previous outing and should appreciate both the drop in class and the cutback in distance on Saturday. Owner and trainer Ryland Harwood sharpened Aunt T T up with a bullet three-furlong workout in 36.40 on April 20, and Twyla Beckner will return to ride.

Also a threat is All About Tara, who has been right there at the finish in her last three starts, all against $8,000 maidens. All About Tara, a daughter of True Confidence from the barn of trainer Roger Stevenson, graduated by a neck in her most recent try on March 12. She has good early speed and should be prominent throughout under rider Jose Rivera.

Saturday's feature will go as the ninth of 11 live races on the card, which is set to begin at 12:35 p.m.
