Derby Watch rankings for April 7

Who's Hot, Who's Not

WHO'S HOT: High Cotton, who most recently won the Rushaway Stakes at Turfway Park on the Lane's End undercard, is the lone addition to this week's top 25 of Derby Watch. He is 60-1 on the Kentucky Derby future line set by Mike Watchmaker, Daily Racing Form's national handicapper. Barbaro, who won the Florida Derby, is down to 8-1 from last week's 12-1, making him the third choice on Watchmaker's line. Sharp Humor, the Florida Derby runner-up, saw his price cut in half, from last week's 60-1 to this week's 30-1.

WHO'S NOT: The freak show's over. Achilles of Troy, whose connections are embroiled in so much turmoil they would make a wonderful episode of "Jerry Springer," is off the list after being injured. Flashy Bull, who was seventh in the Florida Derby, is now 60-1 on Watchmaker's line after being 40-1 last week.

ON THE BUBBLE: Racketeer was a close fourth in the San Felipe in his last start and now tries to gain a Kentucky Derby berth with a sharp effort in the Illinois Derby on Saturday at Hawthorne. Both Greeley's Legacy and Showing Up could move onto the list with top performances in the Wood Memorial on Saturday at Aqueduct.
