Derby update

Badge of Silver and Trust N Luck, who were runaway winners of the Risen Star Stakes and Fountain of Youth Stakes, made big moves on the future line set by Mike Watchmaker, Daily Racing Form national handicapper. Badge of Silver plummeted from 30-1 last week to 6-1, making him the co-second choice with Sky Mesa behind favored Kafwain. Trust N Luck tumbled from 30-1 to 10-1. Lion Tamer, the Hutcheson Stakes winner, also moved lower, from 40-1 to 25-1. The three newcomers to this week's top 25 of Derby Watch are Region of Merit (40-1), Supah Blitz (40-1), and Aristocat (50-1).

Three horses - Scrimshaw, Seattle Hoofer, and Whywhywhy - were dropped from the top 25 because of poor performances last weekend. Saintly Look, who was 30-1 before the Risen Star, rose to 50-1 on this week's Watchmaker line.

Atswhatimtalknbout was scheduled to run in a first-level allowance race on Thursday at Santa Anita, and could move onto the list if one of the top 25 defects between now and next week. There is very little in the way of significant 3-year-old stakes racing this weekend, just sprints such as the Best Turn Stakes at Aqueduct and the Baldwin Stakes down the hillside turf course at Santa Anita.
