Email

Horses trained by Steve Asmussen swept both stakes run Friday night at Delta Downs, with Probation Ready closing well for a length and a quarter win the $50,000 Delta Express, and Polyhymnia getting up for a half-length win in the $50,000 Mademoiselle. The races were for older horses at five furlongs, with the Mademoiselle restricted to fillies and mares.

Probation Ready ($13.60) raced in sixth early, overtook the leaders in the stretch and covered the distance over a fast track in 58.39. Sumfun finished second, a half-length in front of third-place finisher Mystery Classic. Colby Hernandez rode Probation Ready for Vinery Stables.

Polyhymnia ($9.60) stalked the pace, then overtook High Heritage to win the Mademoiselle in 58.35 seconds. Gerard Melancon rode the winner for the partnership of Little Red Feather Racing and Stonestreet Stable.
