Casiguapo, the runner-up in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes, tops the list of Delta Jackpot pre-entries.

Casiguapo, runner-up in the Grade 1 Hopeful at Saratoga, was among 14 horses pre-entered Tuesday in the Grade 3, $1 million Delta Downs Jackpot. The field for the 1 1/16-mile race for 2-year-olds will be limited to 10 when it is run Nov. 23. Final entries are Nov. 19.

The Jackpot is the richest race of the meet at Delta, a six-furlong track located in Vinton, La. It will anchor an afternoon card of eight stakes worth a collective $2.25 million. The program includes the Grade 3, $500,000 Delta Downs Princess, a one-mile race for 2-year-old fillies that drew 10 pre-entries Tuesday, including graded stakes winners Miss Behaviour, Concave, and Bahnah.

Casiguapo is a Calder-based runner who finished nine lengths behind Strong Mandate in the Hopeful in September. In his most recent start, Casiguapo was fourth in the Grade 1 Champagne at Belmont Park on Oct. 5.

Rise Up also was pre-entered in the Jackpot and gets first preference by virtue of his win in the local prep, the $200,000 Jean Lafitte run Oct. 26. Others pre-entered, listed by earnings, are Best Plan Yet, Yes I’m Lucky, Coastline, Mighty Brown, Rum Point, Big Bazinga, Whyruawesome, Intense Holiday, Final Step, Rankhasprivileges, Roman Unbridled, and Flat Gone.

For the Princess, the remaining fillies pre-entered were Synapse, Zip On, Appreciating, Honey’s Ryan, Tepin, Luna Santa, and Comme Chez Soi.
