Delta: Fass Feat may stretch out in next

Fass Feat ran his career record to 4 for 4 with his win in the $75,000 Bayou State for Louisiana-breds last weekend at Delta Downs, and now his connections are shopping for his next race. He has won his four starts by a combined margin of 24 1/2 lengths, and won his two-turn debut in the seven-furlong Bayou State.

"We're just going to wait for a good spot to come up," said Emile Schwandt, who trains Fass Feat for breeder P and L Racing. "We'll just take them one race at a time."

Schwandt said a long-term goal for Fass Feat is the Louisiana Legends Night program at Evangeline Downs on June 30. He said he could start in either the $100,000 Pola Benoit Memorial at 1 1/16 miles or the $100,000 Junius Delahoussaye Memorial at 5 1/2 furlongs. Both races are for 4-year-olds and up bred in Louisiana.

"I think he might stretch out a little bit, a mile, a mile and a sixteenth," said Schwandt.

Fass Feat is a 4-year-old by Placid Fund.

* My Little Goldie will cut back to one turn for the featured eighth race Friday night. The five-furlong allowance is for Louisiana-bred fillies and mares who have never won two races, and the purse is $40,000. My Little Goldie has run third in two-turn allowances in her last two starts. Trainer John Gelner has given the mount to Casey Fusilier.
