Delta Downs track report

The 901 Racing Stable and trainer Dale Angelle got more than they hoped for when they claimed No Its Not for $7,500 in February. The colt has gone on to win five races for his new connections and he's likely to be favored on Saturday night in the $50,000 Marshland at Delta Downs in Vinton, La.

The seven-furlong race, to be held around two turns, has also drawn regional stakes winners Screen Idol, Two Punch Sonny, and Lights on Broadway.

No Its Not, a 4-year-old by Is It True, has climbed the class ladder since Angelle won a three-way shake for him at Fair Grounds. The colt won that day, and immediately reeled off three more wins for his new barn, taking a $10,000 turf starter, a $25,000 claimer on dirt, and a conditioned allowance.

"We got a lot more for the money than we bargained for," Angelle said. Not Its Not, whose record for the year stands at 6 for 11, is looking for his third straight win in the Marshland. In his most recent race, he made a rare start around two turns. Despite stumbling out of the gate, he managed to win a Delta allowance drawing away from the field and earning a 100 Beyer Speed Figure.

"I thought he ran a powerful race," Angelle said. "The only other time we stretched him out around two turns on dirt, he destroyed them. It looks like he may be better going two turns, [but] he's sprinted well, and is just a real versatile horse."

Jamie Theriot will ride.
