Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association sets stallion season auction for January

The Delaware Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association will hold its second annual stallion season auction Jan. 5-12.

Bidding for the online auction will end on Jan. 12th, at 8 p.m. Eastern. Stallion season donations are still being accepted, with the proceeds going toward DTHA Winners Circle PAC Fund and the Delaware Certified Thoroughbred Program.

The Delaware Certified Thoroughbred Program will waive the application fee for the progeny from stallion seasons purchased at this auction for the 2014 breeding season.

The current auction roster features seasons from 25 stallions standing in Arkansas, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

“Thoroughbred breeding has hit its lowest point and we need to continue to get breeders back into the breeding shed, as well as increase business at farms and stallion stations,” said DTHA President Michael Gorham. “We appreciate the support we’ve received from the farms that have generously donated stallion seasons.”
