Delaware: Rice has potent entry

Trainer Linda Rice has a pair of last-out turf sprint winners at Saratoga lined up for the $55,000 Walking in Da Sun Stakes at Delaware Park.

Rice's uncoupled entrymates, Lady Rizzi and Ahvee's Destiny, boast the two best last-race Beyer Speed Figures in a full field of 12 fillies and mares going five furlongs on the grass. There are also two main-track-only entrants.

The 5-year-old Lady Rizzi comes off a career-best 100 Beyer Figure, earned for her three-length win in a second-level optional $50,000 claimer restricted to New York-breds.

Ahvee's Destiny, 5 for 10 lifetime in turf sprints, most recently earned a career-best Beyer of 92 winning a statebred sprint stakes a month ago.

Other logical contenders include Libor Lady, who has 4 wins and a second in her last 5 starts; Intentional Fever, who won this race a year ago making her turf debut and has been freshened since finishing fourth over a yielding course as the 6-5 favorite in the Jenny Wade Stakes at Penn National; and Tiger Fever, a six-time winner in turf sprints who finished less than a length behind Libor Lady last time out at Laurel Park.
