Delaware Park: Doro promoted to racing secretary

Jed Doro, who spent the last six years as assistant racing secretary at Delaware Park, has been promoted to racing secretary.

Doro, 34, replaces Pat Pope, who last week accepted a job as racing secretary at Prairie Meadows.

Doro is currently the assistant director of Oaklawn Park. He will start his new position at Delaware when the Oaklawn meet ends in April. Doro previously worked at Laurel Park, Pimlico, and Colonial Downs.

“Jed has a thorough knowledge of the horses, trainers and jockeys who participate in Delaware racing on an annual basis,” said John Mooney, the executive director of racing at Delaware.  “The entire staff is excited and looking forward to supporting him in his new role.”

“I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I look forward to the challenges of being racing secretary,” said Doro.  “I am especially excited about being given this opportunity at the track where I have worked for the last six years.  With the support from our entire staff, I look forward to carrying on the tradition of exciting and competitive racing at Delaware Park.”
