Delaware: 'Master' stays perfect at home

Master of Disaster displayed anew his affinity for Delaware Park, powering to a 1 1/2-length victory as the odds-on choice in the $54,000 Oh Say Stakes for 3-year-olds.

The victory improved Master of Disaster's record at Delaware Park to 5 for 5; he is 0 for 4 everywhere else.

Six program scratches reduced the 10-horse field to four, and three of them wanted the lead.

Ridden by Mario Pino, Master of Disaster won a three-way scramble for the front, with 4-1 third-choice Vikrant settling in second up the backside and 5-2 second choice Urban Guy running a close-up third.

Vikrant, under Roberto Alvarado Jr, made his move on the turn and pulled within a head of Master of Disaster on the turn. But Pino flipped his goggles and asked more of Master of Disaster, who gradually pulled away.

Crafty Ticker passed Urban Guy for third place.

Master of Disaster ran the six furlongs in 1:09.60 and paid $3.20 to win and $2.10 to place.
