Delaware: Eternal Star upsets Sequoia King

Eternal Star settled just behind 8-5 favorite Sequoia King on the backside, passed that one straightening for home, and won the $54,000 Par Four for 2-year-olds by two lengths.

Cash Rich, the second choice, closed for second and Sequoia King held third. Eternal Star ran the six furlongs in 1:11.32 and paid $9.40.

Sequoia King fell just past the wire, unseating rider Stewart Elliott, and causing fifth-place finisher Tastefully Smart to fall, too. Sequoia King stood up and was walked into the horse ambulance. Elliott also got up on his own power, but left the track in an ambulance. Tastefully Smart's rider, Alex Beitia, was taken to a nearby hospital for observation.

* One race earlier, in an optional claimer, Southern Missile ($11.60) won by 2 1/4 lengths over 7-1 Confucius Say, with 7-2 City Weekend third. Million-dollar earner Cherokee's Boy was off the board at even-money. The $2 exacta paid $76.20, and the trifecta $227.80.
