Delaware Co. Fair: Thursday 9/20 Analysis

Email

Best Bet: DONTYOUFORGETIT (8th)     Spot Play: UNEFOISDANSMAVIE (16th)

FIRST CARD

Race 1

(3) JELLYFISH JOY dropped and popped last week, now Tetrick drives. Lots to like. (2) OSBORNES SWEEPER beat an overnight field at Northfield and paid $2.10; mare has some class to her. (1) LITTLE SANTAMONICA has some Hazel Park form and she draws best.

Race 2

(4) NUTMEGS MAYA is clearly best here. Outside post shouldn't be a problem. (2) POW CHICKA POW POW hasn't shown a heck of a lot in his brief career, but he should make noise here. (1) BACK MOUNT raced decently the last time he was over a major track; hard to translate those Fair lines.

SECOND CARD

Race 1

(1) IM IN LUCK draws best, is clearly the most seasoned of these, has some nice-looking efforts over the half-miler recently and he should try to take this field down the road. (2) SHAWANDA must be feared from the inside post. (3) TYBER TYKE last started in a 200K race, although he was overmatched, that must be respected.

Race 2

(2) TWILIGHT BONFIRE is still looking for his maiden victory, but he's been facing better competition than the rest. (5) JUDE HALL managed a small share in the KYSS final last out; Pierce drives today and he can't possibly be that far back in this select field. (4) NORMANDY INVASION has hinted at some ability.

Race 3

It's almost unfair to the rest of the competition that (5) PET ROCK is in this race. He almost looks worth the $2.10 win price. (6) LUCKY LIME has been holding his own versus seasoned competition at Scioto. (4) CALL ME MR P gets Pierce in the bike, consider for a share.

Race 4

(2) MY ONE TRU DESIRE shows nothing but speed, speed and more speed, which should suit him perfectly over this surface. (3) STORM THE BEACH may be a touch better than the top choice, but he will likely be in stalk mode; can he get there? (4) BEACH MEMORIES is back with Tetrick, who's had success with him in stakes action in PA.

Race 5

(1) DILIGENT PROSPECT landed a big share in the Kentucky Sire Final by laying close to the pace and showing good finishing speed; stablemate to Bolt The Duer will undoubtedly try to take these down the road. (3) CANARY ISLAND comes in off a nice win at Vernon; Canadian star Scott Zeron is here to drive. (6) MISS MADI M has ability, needs to overcome the post.

Race 6

(3) WOOMZOOMI ships out west to join the Virgil Morgan, Jr. barn and he has Brennan driving, worth a look in this tough-to-figure event. (1) IMHAPPYTWO must be respected from the rail slot. (4) TURF BURNER has been burning up the Fair circuit.

Race 7

(3) MR I AM is a winning machine. Ohio Sire Stakes champ is looking for his sixteenth tally of the year. (1) FEELIN CORNERED has not disgraced himself in any recent outings. Gelding draws best and Gingras lands in the sulky. (5) GUN SHOW outclasses the rest.

Race 8

(5) DONTYOUFORGETIT hails from premium connections and is a late break shy of being perfect in his career. Yannick will work his way to the front and it should be all gravy from there. (1) SPIDER BLUE CHIP needs to stay flat and he should be along to complete the chalky exacta. (6) THEATRICAL SESSION could show closing kick for a share with Dave Palone.

Race 9

(1) JETSTREAM FRISKIE looks best, draws best, will likely be bet like he's best and sail down the road. (2) MAN HE CAN SKOOT is consistent (21 for 22 in the money) and he will likely try to follow the top choice around twice. (6) NOBLE TRICK seems to have the speed to try and overcome the post.

Race 10

I liked (4) SHOW ME GLORY'S effort two back versus seasoned foes at Scioto. Tetrick drives today and a repeat of that effort can take this. (3) LEGACYS BEST picks up Brennan and that will lure plenty of attention and respect. (6) JS SIX PACK ATTACK has likely been facing better competition lately.

Race 11

(3) PRAYER SESSION and (5) FUSION MAN look like a good matchup here. `Fusion' got the best of the `Prayer' in the KYSS Final, but with the post edge here I'll give the call to Dave Magee's charge. (7) FROST BITES K has had success versus some good ones on the Pennsylvania circuit.

Race 12

(1) KZ BEACH GIRL looks best here and with the fortunate post draw here in this bulky field I'm sure we all know that the game plan will be. (5) CHEAT SHEET has had some good success on the Fair circuit; consider. (3) UP FRONT GOTTA GO gets Brennan and was likely facing tougher at The Meadows.

Race 13

(3) MICHAELS POWER has torn up Canada for the strong Casie Coleman barn, and he's already passed the million dollar mark in earnings. His impressive two heat win at Flamboro proves that he should have no problem here in the Jug. Drawing inside his main competition helps immensely. (4) BOLT THE DUER arrives looking for five in a row. After some tough-luck efforts, it looks like the Peter Foley trainee is on the top of his game. (5) THINKING OUT LOUD will likely be at a tactical disadvantage from this spot. With that said, we all know what he's capable of.

Race 14

(1) SWEET LOU could not have hoped for a better spot. Leaving from the rail, and with main foe (7) A ROCKNROLL DANCE having to start from the far outside, that may leave enough of a space for `Lou' to take control of this race. A win here would go a long way in repairing his reputation as being a top-notch three-year-old. (7) A ROCKNROLL DANCE comes into the Jug as the clear favorite, but will the seven hole ruin that? We shall see. (5) DAPPER DUDE upset the top choice last out, then was totally lost at Mohawk. Does he have the speed to be involved here?

Race 15

(4) FOREVER LOVER looks to be the versatile type; leave it to Ron Pierce to pick the winning trip. (3) SPECIAL LADY D looms the one to beat with this resume and this decent post. (8) STANDING DANETTE needs to fire out and get lucky; could it happen for this filly?

Race 16

(3) UNEFOISDANSMAVIE has turned into a nice, steady trotting mare for Ron Burke. Any sort of live trip and she can fly home. (2) CEDAR DOVE has speed and the best draw of the contenders; stamina in her last two has been an issue. (5) BEATGOESON HANOVER has been hard to fault lately.

Race 17

(1) ROCKINCAM has held his own this year against the cream of the crop; rail slot here should keep him out of trouble. (10) ARACACHE HANOVER may be best here, and I still remember that great effort in the U.S. Pacing Championship at The Meadowlands, but he's going to need some luck here from the second tier. Anyone that follows the Yonkers circuit knows that (9) NOB HILL HIGH is as steady as they come. With a clear late path, he can rally for a piece.

Race 18

Obviously the two Jug eliminations play a huge role in the final. If MICHAELS POWER and SWEET LOU win, then they are my top two choices for the final.

Race 19

(7) DOCS YANKEE is stuck with a poor post but he looks to have a class edge on most of these. (1) BE PACIFIC needs a solid getaway, and he'll be live. (2) SPECIAL FORCES has been facing some good ones; the missed time concerns me, however.
