Delaware: Bsharpsonata by seven

EmailBsharpsonata rolled to a seven-length victory in the $56,260 Irish Sonnet Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Delaware Park.

The field of eight scratched down to only four for the one-mile race,

Bsharpsonata ($9.20) stalked the early pace set by Erin's Golden Star before making a three-wide move on the final turn. A daughter of Pulpit, Bsharpsonata won for fun with Eric Camacho aboard for trainer Timothy Salzman.

A homebred for the Clover Leaf Farms, Bsharpsonata earned her second win in four starts, with both victories at Delaware Park. After winning at first asking on July 15, Bsharpsonata ran sixth in her next two outings: the Grade 2 Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga and the Sorority at Monmouth Park. The Irish Sonnet was her first race beyond 6 1/2 furlongs.

The time was 1:39.16 on the fast track.

Erin's Golden Star was the best of the rest in second. Unbridled Rhapsody, the 4-5 favorite, got third. Halcyon was the distant trailer after a bobble at the break.
