Delaware: Amandatude draws off

Amandatude had finished second in six of her nine lifetime starts, including three of her last four races. She displayed no signs of "seconditis" in her emphatic victory in the $55,300 Pollys Jet at Delaware Park.

Stretching out to a two-turn mile after her runner-up effort in the six-furlong Peach Blossom three weeks earlier, Amandatude ($6.40) moved in tandem with Tampa Bay shipper Quelle Surprise to blow past pacesetter Giovanna Gold with three furlongs remaining, gained the lead with a three-wide move entering the stretch, and drew off by 4 3/4 lengths to win for the first time since November.

Julie B, making her first start away from her home base at Charles Town, rallied to get second, two lengths in front of Nancy Creek.

Ridden by Stewart Elliott for trainer Tim Ritchey, Amandatude covered the mile in 1:37.94.
