Del Mar Race 11, (9:57 ET))

It’s not all that often that Ellis reaches out for one via the claim box, but it looks like he may’ve gotten a useful one in WITH A MIRACLE (#11, 7-2). This mare was a good second as the fave for this identical $25k-N2L condition last out and now returns after waiting out the requisite jail time; comes well drawn to the outer in her first try for new connections and figures to benefit from a stalk-and-see journey in a race that might well set up for her. – Marty McGee

Del Mar Race 2, (5:33 ET)

SCATMAN BLUES (#1, 3-1) tumbles in class after 3 tries vs. straight maidens and then a run for $50K. Yes, the drop may help but it’s not as if he’s shown significant talent and with that being a question you have to embrace what figures a shorter-than-should-be price. -Michael Hammersly
