Del Mar: Pick six carryover of $570,012 for Pacific Classic card
Email
DEL MAR, Calif. - Sunday’s Pacific Classic program, the richest day of the Del Mar meeting, will start with a rich two-day pick six carryover of $570,012.
A string of beaten favorites on Saturday, and a win by the longshots Hadfulastnight ($58.60) and Appealing Resume ($23.20) in the seventh and ninth races, ensured that the pick six would carry into Sunday’s 11-race program.
The bet was so difficult that the carryover was announced after Saturday’s ninth race, with one race remaining.

Sunday’s program begins at 1 p.m. Pacific. The pick six covers the sixth through 11th races, and includes two stakes – the $200,000 Del Mar Mile on turf and the $1 million Pacific Classic.
The sixth race is scheduled for 3:41 p.m.
The first leg is a maiden race over six furlongs for 2-year-old California-bred fillies. Tribal Rain and Boller Bomb are scratched, leaving a field of 12.
The Del Mar Mile has only six runners, but is a competitive race.
Obviously, the winner of an optional claimer over a mile on turf in July, is the 2-1 favorite. There will be support for the 2012 stakes winners Jeranimo, Mr. Commons, and Norvsky.
Older maidens start over six furlongs in the eighth race, which has 11 runners. Caminetto, the mount of leading rider Rafael Bejarano, is likely to be favored.
The Pacific Classic is the ninth race. Game On Dude, the winner of the Hollywood Gold Cup last month, will be favored, and will feature very prominently in the pick six discussion. There will be support for Richard’s Kid, the winner of the Pacific Classic in 2009 and 2010, and the 2012 stakes winners Dullahan, Suggestive Boy, and Rail Trip.
The last two races on Sunday have big fields – 10 runners in an optional claimer over 6 1/2 furlongs and 11 runners in a maiden race for fillies and mares over 1 1/8 miles on turf.
richard the kid has no chance - he will lose to a horse called karma.

Kadira,
please limit yourself to websites with fools who actually believe you are really a distressed princess stranded in a foreign country, and will send you money. We are too busy capping the pick six at del mar and have our own dreams of hitting it big without your con...

If Richard's Kid wins, it would be kudos to Baffert. HE did all the training, and the new Buyers have dissed him by not offering to allow Baffert a share of the prize money if Richard's Kid hits the board. SHAMEFUL!!

Richard's Kid is very dangerous not just on talent. Either Leandro Mora is a better trainer
than Dougie or he is using the Willy Beamin juice from R.D jr. LM HAS ONE HECK OF A ROI

Best Bets
AQUINNAH returns to a route and she couldn't have found a much better spot as a horse who wants to be involved early, as the expected pace scenario figures to favor those runners with a little early zip and she appears to be quickest of them all out of the gate; should control the tempo, and that should lead to her running to her best figures. CHARMINGMEGAN has tactical speed and likes to win, a combination that makes her easy to like; should get first run at the top pick.
