Del Mar: Pick six carryover of $189,822 for Sunday
DEL MAR, Calif. - There is a pick six carryover of $189,822 for Sunday’s 10-race program at Del Mar.
With one exception, bettors will sort through large fields in Sunday’s pick six, which covers the fifth through 10th races on a program that starts at 2 p.m. Pacific.
The fifth race is an optional claimer over a mile on turf. Midnight Crooner was scratched on Saturday, leaving 11 runners. The race will have a safety limit of 10 starters. Stoney Fleece remained on the also-eligible list overnight. The final field will be announced on Sunday morning.
The sixth race is a $32,000 claimer over six furlongs with 10 runners. There are 10 2-year-old fillies in a maiden race over 5 1/2 furlongs in the seventh race.
The smallest field is the $150,000 Solana Beach Handicap, the eighth race. With the Saturday withdrawal of Qiaona, there are six fillies and mares in the one-mile turf race. Unusual Hottie, who drew the inside, will be favored.
The final field for the ninth race will be determined on Sunday morning. Prince of Paris has been scratched, assuring that Warrensbrotherbill will start from the also-eligible list. Oh Daddy Oh and Charisma Code are still on the also-eligible list. The race for California-bred maidens will have a maximum of 10 starters.
There is an also-eligible list in the final race, for maidens over a mile on turf. It is worth noting that Self Confident will race as a gelding for the first time, and is considered a top contender along with Red Vine. The race will have a maximum of 10 runners.
Singled Kid Dreams in the first leg. He raced with HeBeFireNice plus RockMeBaby in the same race. That combination of competition gave me a company line. I was looking at the Kayla Stra horse as a serious threat. Raced with Silentio last year at Delmar. It got no help in that race as the rest of the field was lukewarm. The races in the interim didn't concern me as they were all longer distance. Finally went with Kid Dreams because Te Rapa had soft competition in its win. Went against Tom's Tribute because it had soft completion in the last race - a blanket finish.
another carry over at del mar meaning, if anyone has any money left by this point in the meet,,good luck
