DEL MAR PICK 3 (RACES 3-5) Race 3 A's - 6 B's - None C's - 4 Guessing that NAVA NATALY will go off a few points below 10-1 morning line, but she's unlikely to be played with similar vigor in the Pick 3. The major swing would be with her as near single, but since I also like a horse in the 2nd leg, appropriate to use one C backup, that being ATTA GIRL ALMA, the other off-the-pace type who fits. Race 4 A's - 1 B's - 2,3,4 C's - None I like rail-drawn RHODIUM to open up early & run this short, suspect field off their feet. But I would hate to get a good-priced Nava Nataly home in Race 3 & not have a contingency in place. Race 5 A's - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 B's - None C's - None Keeping in mind that the whole very reasonable enterprise of A, B & C plays involves taking the time to weight horses & not just relying on the all button, I challenge reasonable handicappers to truly separate the 8 2yos in this 2-turn turf maiden. The first-timers look plausible, while those that've raced looked mediocre. Hoping for the longest price.
