DEL MAR, Calif.- Game On Dude is fit and ready for the $1 million Pacific Classic at Del Mar on Aug. 26.
After Game On Dude worked five furlongs in 1:00.60 on Sunday, trainer Bob Baffert said he wished the race was sooner.
“He’s staying in the groove,” Baffert said. “He really likes this track. I’ve got to keep him on that track for three weeks.”
The winner of the Hollywood Gold Cup on July 7, and two other stakes earlier this year, Game On Dude is the likely favorite for the Pacific Classic, which is run over 1 1/4 miles.
[Complete coverage of racing at Del Mar: News, PPs, and video]
Game On Dude is one of 10 probable starters. He is expected to challenge defending champion Acclamation; Richard’s Kid, who won the race in 2009 and 2010; as well as Dullahan, Jaycito, John Scott, Rail Trip, Suggestive Boy, Take Control, and Where’s Sterling.
Acclamation, Richard’s Kid, Rail Trip and Suggestive Boy have wonstakes at this meeting.
Acclamation won the Grade 1 Eddie Read Stakes on turf on July 21. Richard’s Kid, trained by Baffert won the Cougar II Handicap over 1 1/2
miles on the main track on July 27. Baffert also trains candidates Jaycito and Take Control.
Rail Trip won the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap on July 28, while Suggestive Boy won the restricted Wickerr Stakes on turf on July 25.
I love Game On Dude and Chantel Sutherland. They will win it all this time around.

Bsb likes to run his jaws... Won't put his money where his mouth is though.Challenged him once but I guess he was grounded that week.

We will be rooting for the Dude and Chantal..... always feel like Terri is watching his champion win

I love it Dullahan should get the price this time on the surface he likes. I believe he'll hit the board this time. Hard to go against Acclimation. Richards Kid not one of my favs even though he's good over that surface, and thats important. Won't rule out Game on Dude. Last year was Last year. Horses change form and trainers learn from mistakes, so can't throw him out, plus will get a better price on the dude this time.

could be the best speed horse so far this year he dominat in all his apperances.

I don't see PVal allowing the Dude to get in front of him. And Chantal's not talented enough a rider to outride/outfight the likes of PVal for the lead. I'm looking beyond these 2 for the winner, as I believe they'll duel each other out of the money.

All the workouts won't convince me Game on Dude is as good on turf-synth like Del Mar's Poly as he is on dirt or Hollywood's dirt-like Cushion. He couldn't even hold on for 4th aginst Stately Victor in last year's Pacific Classic and his Dubai effort was a non-effort. If he wins, he wins, but I won't be betting him.
I really like Acclamation but his Whittingham and Read performances this year were not as good as the corresponding performances last year. And it's fairly clear.
Richard's Kid has looked as good as ever in his 3 races stateside this year. He's the horse to beat.
Rail Trip doesn't have much chance, nor does Jaycito. Dullahan is up against it class-wise. Suggestive Boy has a real shot as does Take Control.

Acclamation beat Game On Dude easily last year. This year won't be any different. He won't even hit the board. The most overrated horse and jock in the country

my buddy's ex-wife makes $62 an hour on the computer. She has been laid off for 7 months but last month her payment was $18999 just working on the computer for a few hours. Go to this web site and read more www.LazyCash38.com

chantell 's stat's aren't that good these last couple years...since mike dumped her but 2-3 races on game and she's good to go......

Best Bets
BIG JOHN B takes a short drop off the claim and layoff, which could be viewed as a negative, but he has some decent works for this return and he has a decent-sized Beyer edge against this group; tactical speed should help him work out a favorable trip. SKIFFS BREWMEISTER merits respect off that last win and figure, his best yet; dangerous if he's able to take another step forward. BRODY BOY finished off the board in his turf debut but he earned a decent figure despite running 7th there, and he did endure a fairly tough trip; most recent workout at Parx indicates he retains his form.
