Del Mar carryover reaches $524,884

DEL MAR, Calif. - There is a two-day pick six carryover of $524,884 highlighting the final Sunday of the Del Mar meeting.

Even though favored Inesperado won Saturday's Del Mar Derby, a string of longshots led to the carryover. The last two winners were difficult to find - Hero's Welcome ($24.80) and Shezsofoxy ($25.80).

Sunday's pick six covers the fourth through ninth races, and features two stakes, two sprits for maiden claimers and two other sprints.

The fourth race is for 2-year-old maiden claimers. The also eligibles have been scratched, leaving a field of 12.

There are no changes in the fifth race, a sprint for $14,000 to $16,000 claimers.

In the sixth race, Runaway AB will not start in the Torrey Pines Stakes for 3-year-old fillies. Habibti, third in the Kentucky Oaks last May, makes her first start in four months and will be a strong favorite.

In the seventh race, there are no changes in an allowance race over six furlongs.

There are no changes in the eighth race, the Palomar Handicap for fillies and mares on turf. There are two standouts among the field of eight - Janet and Voodoo Dancer, a New York shipper.

In the last, Della, Tenma, Jewel Case and Dona's Apollo are scratched and the four also eligibles draw into the race - Jade Vixen, Forty Si, Passionate Caper and Fargaze Ties.

First post time for Sunday's program is 2 p.m. The meeting ends on Wednesday.
