Del Mar carryover reaches $111,414

DEL MAR, Calif. - A string of winning outsiders on Thursday at Del Mar has created a pick six carryover of $111,414 for Friday's eight-race program. Friday's card begins at 4 p.m.

Here's a glance at Friday's card, with the changes from Thursday's scratch time.

The third race is the first turf route of the meeting. Run over 1 3-8 miles on turf, the race drew eight claimers entered for $35,000 to $40,000. Golden Rahy, trained by Bobby Frankel, is the 3-1 favorite.

There are 11 state-bred maidens in the fourth race, run over six furlongs. Crowning Victory, Dark Past and Excess Taxes are the leading contenders.

The fifth race is another full field, with 12 starters in a $16,000 claimer over 6 1-2 furlongs. Grey Misty and Cody to Reggie are scratched. Smile n Wildcat, trained by Mark Glatt, is the expected favorite.

The final turf race of the pick six is the sixth, run over 1 1-16 miles on turf. Of the eight runners, there will be ample support for Del Mar Ticket and Gods Ear.

The day's top race is the $125,000 CTBA Stakes for 2-year-old state-bred fillies over 5 1-2 furlongs. Kalookan Lessie will be one of the shortest priced runners on the program. She beat maidens by five lengths at Hollywood Park.

In the final race, Sailors Sunset and Outlaw Jones are scratched from a maiden claimer over 5 1-2 furlongs. There are 12 starters, yet another race with plenty of horses for bettors to consider.
