Briecat will make his first start on Polytrack since 2010 in the Adoration Stakes.

After trainer Vladimir Cerin won the CTT and TOC Handicap with Let’s Go Cheyenne on Aug. 24, he said he had one more objective before the end of the meeting – win Sunday’s $85,000 Adoration Stakes with Briecat.

“If she wins, that would make my meet,” Cerin said at the time. “I really like that mare.”

Owned by David and Holly Wilson, Briecat, 7, has won 10 of 36 starts and $681,938. She is winless in seven starts ths year, but was third, by a neck, in the Grade 2 Royal Heroine Stakes at Hollywood Park on July 7 and fourth, by three-quarters of a length, in the Osunitas Handicap on turf here July 21.

The Adoration is run over a mile on the main track and will be Briecat’s first start on the surface since a sixth in the 2010 Adoration. Briecat won the 2009 Adoration, one of her eight career stakes wins.

In the Adoration, Briecat is part of a field of nine. The field includes Miss Mittagong, who has not started since a third in the Grade 1 Santa Margarita Stakes at Santa Anita in March.
