DEL MAR, Calif. - Tiz Flirtatious, who stormed home to win the Grade 2 John Mabee Stakes on Sunday, will target the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, with a prep in the Rodeo Drive, both Grade 1, 1 1/4-mile grass races this fall at Santa Anita, according to trainer Marty Jones. Tiz Flirtatious, 5, won a pair of stakes races at Santa Anita earlier this year. A homebred of Pamela Ziebarth, she has now won 7 times in 11 starts. She did not get to the races until October of her 3-year-old year. “She had some minor physical issues when she was young, just growing pains, nothing major,” Jones said. “Fortunately for me, I work for a client who said to do what’s right for the horse, no matter how long it takes. Her development is a tribute to Pam.” Tiz Flirtatious was timed by Trakus as completing her final quarter-mile in the Mabee in 21.64 seconds. of a free preview of DRF Plus.
