DEL MAR, Calif. – An upset win by the 47-1 first-time starter Double Ante in Wednesday's fifth race has led to a pick-six carryover of $93,491 for Thursday's nine-race program at Del Mar.
Going into Wednesday's final race, only one horse was covered in the pick six – the 7-1 shot Johan. He finished sixth after racing in fourth in early stretch. The final race was won by My Dark Vada ($83.80).
Thursday's program is the only Thursday card of the meeting that has a nine-race program. As a result, the pick six covers the fourth through ninth races on a program that begins at 2 p.m. Pacific. The first pick-six race is due off at 3:40 p.m. Pacific.

It will take pick-six bettors a bit of time to sort through the candidates. The pick-six races have fields of 12, 10, 10, 10, 7, and 10.
In the fourth race, for maiden claimers over 5 1/2 furlongs, Youvegotthatright and Mobettermobetter were scratched Wednesday morning. In the fifth race, over a mile on turf, Ms G.I. Jane was an early withdrawl.
There will be further scratches announced Thursday for the sixth and ninth races. Both races will be limited to 10 starters. Each race has drawn fields of 14, with four horses on the also-eligible lists.

HOLY ACADEMY displayed respectable grass form last spring, before performing well on the Poly. She's stretching out off a third behind a runner-up who came back to finish second in the Ballade Stakes, and could be dangerous as the controlling speed in this optional claimer. QUEEN OF THE WAVES rallied wide from mid-pack to beat N1X allowance stock following a layoff when she last saw action March 29 at the Fair Grounds. She can obviously fire while fresh, and should be prominent under Da Silva, who broke her maiden.
