Del Mar: $81,441 pick-six carryover for Friday’s card

DEL MAR, Calif. – There is a pick-six carryover of $81,441 for Friday’s seven-race program at Del Mar.

The bet covers the second through seventh races on a program that starts at 4 p.m. Friday’s card launches the four-day holiday weekend, with racing continuing through Monday. The closing-day program is Wednesday, Sept. 4.

For Friday, there are large fields in the pick-six races.

Here’s a quick glance at the early changes, as of Thursday’s scratch time.

In the second race, a maiden race for $50,000 claimers over 5 1/2 furlongs, Shoot Me Another, Vegas Bound, and Debt Free Abby are scratched. Raja’s Rose remains on the also-eligible list in a race for 2-year-old fillies that will have only 10 starters.

There were no late changes in the third race, an optional claimer over 1 1/16 miles on turf that drew a field of 10.

In the fourth race, jockey Agapito Delgadillo rides Take One. Nikki Allyn and Hitchslap are scratched, allowing Blameitonthecat to draw into the field from the also-eligible list. Gracie Regazza will wear blinkers.

The fourth race, for 2-year-old fillies, is run over 5 1/2 furlongs for maidens entered for $62,500 claiming prices.

The fifth race is run over a mile for $16,000 claimers who have not won twice. Sarangani is scratched from the also-eligible list. The race will have a maximum of 10 starters. There are still 13 listed in the entries.

There were 11 entries on the overnight in the $100,000 El Cajon Stakes, but Tiz the Truth, Spring Up, and Cacau were withdrawn Thursday. Fury Kapcori is a leading contender in the one-mile race for 3-year-olds on the main track. R S Watson will show speed from the rail, while Tiz the Minister is a threat from the back.

In the last race, a maiden race for California-bred fillies and mares over a mile on turf, Seeking Bliss is withdrawn from the also-eligible list. The race will have a maximum of 10 starters and had 13 listed as of Thursday’s scratch time.
