Dehere returning to Kentucky


Dehere, 1993 champion juvenile and the sire of such runners as Take Charge Lady and Graeme Hall, will return to Kentucky for the 2006 breeding season after standing in Japan. Dehere will stand at Coolmore Stud's American division, Ashford Stud, in Versailles, Ky. His fee has not yet been announced.

A 14-year-old Deputy Minister stallion and one of the leading sires of 2002, Dehere has gotten 20 graded winners from eight crops of racing age. His leading runners are millionaire Grade 1 winners Take Charge Lady and Defier; millionaire Grade 2 winner Graeme Hall; Irish and Australian champion Belle Du Jour; Grade 2 winner Soto; multiple graded stakes-placed Easyfromthegitgo; and Puerto Rican champion Mi Amigo Guelo. He has progeny earnings of more than $53 million.

Dehere is out of the stakes-placed Secretariat mare Sister Dot and is a full brother to stakes-placed Defrere. In his racing career, he won the Grade 1 Champagne and Hopeful in 1993 among five graded stakes victories and retired with earnings of $723,712.
