Dearly Precious to 'Souvenirs'

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Among My Souvenirs remained undefeated in three starts after winning Saturday's $75,000 Dearly Precious Stakes at Aqueduct.

Among My Souvenirs, the second choice in the six-horse field of 3-year-old fillies, was a 1 1/2-length winner over the 4-5 favorite, Bohemian Lady.

Ridden by Mario Pino, Among My Souvenirs came from off the pace in the six-furlong Dearly Precious, split horses on the turn, and finished full of run to catch Bohemian Lady in the final furlong.

Baldomera, who won the Ruthless Stakes in her last start, finished third, 3 1/4 lengths behind Bohemian Lady. Wild Cee, Pro Occident, and Lightning Trick completed the order of finish.

Among My Souvenirs ($7.60) covered the distance in 1:11.60 over a fast track.

Among Souvenirs, now 3 for 3, is trained by Tony Dutrow and owned by Peter Angelos, CEO of the Baltimore Orioles.

Dutrow, who wasn't at Aqueduct for the race, said, "She finished full of run. I watched a couple of races today, and I felt the bias was on her side."

Pino, who was aboard Among My Souvenirs when she won her maiden and the Marshua Stakes earlier this winter at Laurel Park, said the filly continues to impress him.

"I really thought she was something special, especially last time when she got up to win," Pino said. "The race set up good today. I just followed the favorite, got next to her, and my filly was gone."

Migliore, who rode Bohemian Lady, said he had no excuses for his filly.

"She ran hard and kicked on," Migliore said. "The winner ran a little faster the last eighth of a mile."
