LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. - Dash to the End won California's first futurity of 2004 for Quarter Horses in Saturday's $350,000 Kindergarten at Los Alamitos.

The victory marked the second consecutive year owner Enrique Gonzalez won the prestigious race. Gonzalez won the 2003 running with Hawkish.

Dash to the End finished 300 yards in 15.501 seconds, finishing a head in front of Jumpn. La Jolla Ca ran third in the field of 10. Ridden by Joel Cruz for trainer Feliz Gonzalez, Dash to the End was one of four fillies in the field.

She is eligible for a $1 million bonus for a horse that sweeps the Kindergarten, Ed Burke Memorial Futurity in July and the Los Alamitos Million in December. Hawkish won the first two legs last year, but failed to qualify for the Million.
