Darby Dan Farm stud fees unchanged for 2015

There will be no changes in advertised stud fees for the stallion roster at Darby Dan Farm in Lexington, Ky., for the 2015 breeding season.

Preakness Stakes winner Shackleford will once again lead the way among the Darby Dan stallions with an advertised fee of $20,000. The 7-year-old son of Forestry is represented by his first crop of weanlings in 2014, and his first weanling to sell at auction brought $150,000 at the recent Fasig-Tipton Saratoga fall mixed sale.

Tale of Ekati, whose first foals are 2-year-olds of 2014, will command the roster’s second-highest fee at $15,000. According to Darby Dan, the 9-year-old son of Tale of the Cat was the first North American freshman stallion to sire a winner this year.

Darby Dan will again be offering various incentives programs in 2015 to provide value to breeders, including the Profit Protection Program, Goldmine 20/20 Match Program, and Black-Type Bonanza Program.
