Dancing Allstar romps

EmailVANCOUVER, British Columbia - Dancing Allstar cruised to a 6 3/4-length win over My Special Angel in the $107,462 Sadie Diamond Futurity at Hastings on Sunday.

Sent right to the front by leading rider Mario Gutierrez, Dancing Allstar was never threatened as she widened her margins at every call. She was sent off as the heavy favorite and paid $2.20.

Trained by Terry Jordan, Dancing Allstar set fractions of 22.39 seconds, 45.49, and 1:09.37 on her way to posting the fastest 6o1/2 furlongs ever run by a 2-year-old at Hastings, 1:15.78. The track, labeled sloppy, was easily the fastest surface seen here in years.

"She's just a nice horse," said Jordan. "She's very easy to train and she does everything you ask. She's a real sweetheart."

Dancing Allstar has won her last two starts at Hastings by a combined 16 3/4 lengths. She also led start to finish when she won the CTHS Sales Stakes on Sept. 8.

"Everything was winning on the lead today, so I told Mario to put her right there," said Jordan.

Jordan added that Dancing Allstar would be pointed to the $100,000 Fantasy at 1 1/16 miles here Oct. 27.

"I'm pretty sure she'll go long," he said.

Dancing Allstar has wrapped up local divisional honors, and with a win in the My Dear Stakes at Woodbine earlier in the year she would have to be given serious consideration for national honors as well.
