Dancing Allstar just too good

VANCOUVER – Heavily favored Dancing Allstar broke on top and then was under cruise control the rest of the way to win the $53,508 Emerald Downs Stakes at Hastings by 3 1/4 lengths. She paid $2.20 to win. There was no place or show wagering in the four-horse field.

With leading rider Mario Gutierrez in the irons, Dancing Allstar looked very comfortable setting fractions of 22.55 and 45.55 over a fast track before she drew off to post a final time of 1:10.66 for six furlongs.

Rosada made a bit of move around the stretch turn but then flattened out in the stretch to finish a clear second over Light Up the Lane.

Trained by Terry Jordan, Dancing Allstar was the champion 2-year-old filly in Canada in 2007 and she has easily won both of her starts this year. Immediately following the race, Jordan said that Dancing Allstar would make her next start in the $75,000 Penny Lane at Stampede Park June 15, or the $50,000 CTHS Sales Stakes at Hastings June 21.
