Dance in the Mood faces 17

Dance in the Mood puts her international credentials on the line in the $1.73 million Yasuda Kinen at Tokyo Racecourse on Sunday when she faces 17 rivals in the Grade 1 mile, among them the dangerous Hong Kong raider Bullish Luck.

The winner of the Japanese 1000 Guineas in 2004, when she also finished second in the American Oaks at Hollywood Park, Dance in the Mood finally returned to the winner's circle on May 14 in the Victoria Cup, a Group 1 mile for fillies and mares.

Bullish Luck, a troubled fourth in last year's Yasuda Kinen, would earn an Asian Mile Challenge bonus of $1 million with a victory on Sunday, as he had previously taken the third leg of the series, the May 7 Champions Mile at Sha Tin. Hong Kong will also be represented by Joyful Winner and The Duke. Two good Japanese milers, Hat Trick and defending champ Asakusa Den'en, must improve following dull efforts when unplaced in the Dubai Duty Free on March 25.
