Daily Racing Form launches mobile platform

Daily Racing Form on Thursday launched a mobile platform, called m.drf.com, designed to appeal to horseplayers using smartphones. The new site features DRF ’s racing coverage and tools and includes access to DRF Bets, the company’s online wagering outlet.

The mobile site, developed with Toronto-based Polar Mobile, provides the Racing Form ’s racing news coverage, past performances, and handicapping analysis, as well as wagering through DRF Bets.

The platform is designed for both iPhone and Android screens.

In a press release, the Racing Form said it also was developing a site designed for tablet users as well as mobile apps for major Thoroughbred racing events.

The new mobile site may be accessed directly at m.drf.com. Users who visit www.DRF.com from their smartphones will be directed automatically to the mobile site.

I use drf.com everyday from my smartphone and things where fine they way they were. This new mobile site is absolutely AWFUL! First of all the sidebar links do not work on my iphone, then when once i click on the title of the article i cannot scroll past the first sentences. There is a link to go back to the full desktop site, but it is a graphic and doesn't work on my phone. I cannot believe that drf would release something this bad the week before the Kentucky Derby. I've been in the web design business for 11 years and I would have never suggested releasing this the week before the biggest day in racing. Please, at least give us a text link that actually works to get back to the full website like equibase does!

IT IS AWFUL. I do NOT want to be redirected to this thoughtless mobile app. I will not be visiting the site from my mobile devices anymore now.
