Daily Racing Form launches DRF Breeding Today

Today marks the first issue of DRF Breeding Today, a free daily newsletter that will provide breeders, owners, and those invested in the sport, as well as racing enthusiasts, with a publication that provides unique insights and analysis of the game. To access the first issue, click here.

DRF Breeding Today will be published five days a week, Mondays through Fridays, with reports on recent runners, best runners of the week and year, sire lists, news, and pedigree and sales analysis.

We also are offering a first in this newsletter: reports of runners that are infused with our proprietary Beyer Speed Figures.

The Beyer Speed Figures are the most trusted and widely used speed figures in racing, and this is the first time they will be offered in such detail for all types of racing results, enabling professionals to evaluate performances by runners by classes of race, ages, distances, and surfaces.

Only Daily Racing Form can provide these figures, and we understand how important they are to breeders and owners. We will slice and dice the figures in numerous ways — by age, sex, distance, surface, class of race, track, circuit, state where bred — to help our readers evaluate talent. We are presenting this information in an easy-to-read, easy-to-print PDF format, and we will work on alternate methods of delivery based on the needs of our readers.

The content of this newsletter is the work of the DRF Breeding staff, the IT department of the Daily Racing Form, and our art department. It is also the work of Andy Beyer, who in the 1970s came up with the idea of developing his speed figures that have become such an integral and essential part of racing.

But Beyer figures are not the only feature of this publication. We will provide professionals of all stripes important news, results, and statistics to help make the game interesting and fun.

This is the most recent initiative by Daily Racing Form to provide important and valuable information for everyone participating in this great sport.

We plan to add features over the coming months, and the input of our readers is both welcome and encouraged.
