Cyber Secret, 3, dies in stall

Cyber Secret, a multiple graded-stakes-winning 3-year-old filly trained by Richard Dutrow Jr., died in her Aqueduct stall Wednesday night. The cause of death was not immediately known. Her body was sent to the New Bolton Center in Pennsylvania for an autopsy.

She was the second Dutrow-trained filly to die this week. On Monday, Carson Hollow, a Grade 1-winning filly, died in Canada from complications from colic surgery. The deaths are not believed to be related.

"Something hadn't been right with [Cyber Secret] for a while," Dutrow said Thursday afternoon at Saratoga. "We hadn't figured out what it was, and we still don't know. She was a very nice filly to be around."

Cyber Secret, a daughter of Cyberspace, won 5 of 9 starts including the Busanda Stakes, the Grade 3 Cicada, and the Grade 3 Comely.

Cyber Secret was claimed for $65,000 out of her first start. She earned $274,707, the bulk of it for owners Sanford Goldfarb and Team Julep Stable.
