'Cure' must carve a trip from post 10

Email

EDMONTON, Alberta - Freud's Cure will seek to remain unbeaten when he makes his second start Friday in the Edmonton Juvenile here at Northlands Park. There will be stakes races here for four straight days, with the juvenile fillies going in the Princess Margaret on Saturday.

Freud's Cure, a New York-bred gelding owned by Waymor Holdings and trained by Rob Chabot, will leave from the outside post, No. 10, with Ron Blinston aboard, and may have trouble finding a favorable position.

Also coming off a victory are Wild at Last, Silverman, and Freetoleave, all of whom are trained by Greg Tracy. Lone Star Slew, also a winner for Tracy last time out, is stuck on the also-eligible list.

Wild at Last, a three-length winner of his latest, has the rail. Freetoleave was the even-money favorite in his victory after finishing third in his debut, and Silverman was also third in his first appearance.

Bam Bam lost a photo to Silverman in his last try after a bang-up third in his career opener. Owned by Bar None Ranches, Bam Bam was the favorite in both races.

Greenwood Meadow was beaten a neck by Freud's Cure in his opener. Leanne Painter will ride Greenwood Meadow, a Dale Saunders trainee.

Lord Mysterio boasts a victory sandwiched between two losses. He is trained by Joan Petrowski for Lucky Strike Stable and Doug Blair.
