Crypto's Twinjet looks good in Galbreath Stakes

GROVE CITY, Ohio - Crypto's Twinjet may very well fly past her seven rivals when she heads the field in Sunday's $50,000 John W. Galbreath Memorial Stakes for 2-year-old Ohio-bred fillies at Beulah Park.

Crypto's Twinjet enters the Galbreath off a second-place finish in the Best of Ohio Juvenile Fillies here Oct. 8, in which she finished 12 lengths behind graded stakes winner Joanies Bella at Sunday's 1 1/16-mile distance. A daughter of Cryptoclearance, Crypto's Twinjet had previously scored a victory against allowance company in a one-mile race at Turfway Park, making her one of only two fillies in the Galbreath to have won around two turns.

Crypto's Twinjet sports a record of 2-2-0 from five starts for trainer L. A. Palacios. Regular rider Hector Rosario Jr. has a return call.

Mercer's Launch and Bates Choice, the third- and fourth-place finishers, respectively, in the Best of Ohio, look like the main threats.

Mercer's Launch finished 3 1/2 lengths behind Crypto's Twinjet in the Best of Ohio in her first start around two turns. Before that race she had captured the six-furlong Emerald Necklace Stakes at Thistledown.

Trainer Jeff Williams has named Jason Eads, who was aboard Mercer's Launch for her stakes score, to ride.

Bates Choice is the only other stakes winner in the Galbreath field by way of her 5 3/4-length victory in the Miss Ohio at River Downs in August. The Best of Ohio was the filly's only start since the Miss Ohio. Trained by Tony Rini, she should show speed from the inside post under jockey Michael Rowland.
