DISTORTED REALITY hasn't taken a bad step since being switched to the grass by Todd Pletcher, and he was very impressive taking his entry-level allowance at Keeneland in his most recent start. He set a pressured pace while on the hedge, and exploded away from his rivals in midstretch. He's lightly-raced, and will get another class test in this heat, but his tactical speed should have him in a nice spot going into the first turn, and he may offer a bit of value at 8-1 on the morning line. A half-brother to the turf-loving Atticus Kristy, it's no surprise that Distorted Reality is successfully mowing the lawn.
MARCAVELLY was a solid winner of the Grade 3 Transylvania in his 3-year-old debut, and like the top pick, has good tactical speed. He's always shown tremendous potential, has never finished off the board, goes out for top connections, and should be right there when they turn for home. He's very dangerous. WHATSTHESCRIPT's only poor start in the United States came over cushion track in the Grade 1 Hollywood Futurity, but other than that, he's been perfect in stakes company. He certainly has the ability to win this, but has only raced once since December. DUVEEN seeks his third straight, and he has really relished the switch to the turf. He showed a great deal of professionalism in winning his most recent start, and may find a good stalking spot in the early stages. Don't count this one out. BIRDBIRDISTHEWORD adds blinkers after dull performances in the Louisiana Derby and Florida Derby. It's possible that he's best on the grass as he's never been beaten on this surface, and the new eyewear may infuse better gate speed into his arsenal.
