Crown list grows by two

Two additional horses have been made eligible to the Triple Crown, bringing the total to 417, Triple Crown Productions announced on Tuesday.

The two - One Tuff Fox and Puzzlement - were nominated before the midnight Saturday deadline, but their nomination slip was processed by the New York Racing Association, and since Aqueduct's racing office was closed on Sunday, for Easter, and Monday, Triple Crown Productions did not learn of the nominations until Tuesday morning, according to Ed Seigenfeld, the executive vice-president of Triple Crown Productions.

The owners of One Tuff Fox and Puzzlement had to pay a $6,000 nomination fee, as did 10 others whose nominations were announced on Monday.

One Tuff Fox is scheduled to run in Saturday's Illinois Derby at Sportsman's Park. He has won twice in three starts, most recently an allowance at Fair Grounds. He is trained by Richard Dutrow Jr.

Puzzlement won a maiden race at Gulfstream on Saturday. He finished third in his two prior starts. He is trained by Allen Jerkens.
