Coyoteshighestcall makes it six in row

Coyoteshighestcall extended his winning streak to six races with a decisive three-length score in Tuesday's $75,000 Norristown Stakes at Philadelphia Park.

Since he was claimed for $25,000 by trainer Scott Lake on behalf of owner Robert Cole Jr. last September, the 6-year-old Coyoteshighestcall has won 8 of 10 starts, including five this season at four different racetracks. The Norristown was his first stakes victory.

Chase the Line and New York shipper Explosive Heat dueled through fractions of 46.75 seconds for a half-mile before Judiths Wild Rush, the former two-time Sovereign Award champion sprinter in Canada, swung three wide to take a short lead turning into the stretch.

Ridden by Kendrick Carmouche, Coyoteshighestcall ($5.40), the favorite in a field of five older horses, put his head in front of Judiths Wild Rush with about a quarter-mile remaining and won easily without being asked to go all out. He completed the mile and 70 yards in 1:42.30.

New Mexico, whose four-race winning streak was snapped, rallied from last to be second, 6 3/4 lengths ahead of Judiths Wild Rush.
