Court Vision's first foal was born on Jan. 20 in Ontario
Breeders' Cup Mile winner and young stallion Court Vision was represented by his first foal on Jan. 20, a filly born at Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Aurora, Ontario, Canada.
The filly is out of the San Romano mare Panteccaria, dam of two winners, including stakes winner Nicki Knew.
Out of the stakes-winning Conquistador Cielo mare Alexandrina, Panteccaria is a half-sister to Canadian Horse of the Year Thornfield. Alexandrina, out of Canadian champion La Lorgnette, is a half-sister to four stakes horses, including Group 1 winner and sire Hawk Wing and Group 3 winner Race For The Stars.
Court Vision, a 8-year-old Gulch horse, was a graded stakes winner each season he raced from age two to six, earning $3,746,658. He capped his career with a victory in the 2011 Breeders' Cup Mile at Churchill Downs, defeating a field that included champions Goldikova and Gio Ponti.
His other Grade 1 triumphs came in the 2008 Hollywood Derby, 2009 Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes, 2010 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap, and 2010 Woodbine Mile Stakes.
Court Vision is out of the unraced Storm Bird mare Weekend Storm, a half-sister to classic winner and breed-shaping sire A.P. Indy and a full sister to classic winner and sire Summer Squall. Court Vision is a full brother to stakes winner Garcia Marquez and a half-brother to Grade 3 winner Smart Surprise and stakes winner Lord Snowden, as well as to multiple Grade 2-placed winner Hailstone.
Court Vision entered stud at Park Stud in Ontario for a fee of $10,000 in Canadian currency (approximately $10,066) in 2012. He will stand for the same fee this season.
Ontario breeders should be all over this guys book. This is a quality young stallion who could quite easily become one of the better stallions to stand here in Ontario.
